Datu Adj. Prof. Ir. Cassidy Anak Morris is a senior civil and infrastructure engineering leader with around 28 years of experience in the Sarawak Public Works Department (JKR), currently serving as Director
of Public Works. He has held several key leadership positions, including Deputy Director (Infrastructure), Regional Manager, and Head of Project, overseeing major infrastructure development across Sarawak. He has managed more than 15,000 projects valued at over RM72 billion, including large-scale road and bridge connectivity initiatives. His expertise includes infrastructure planning, project management, and strategic development, supported by active academic, professional, and industry involvement.

En. Baharuhom bin K.K Sogon is a senior civil engineering professional with about 26 years of experience in public infrastructure development and management. He began his career at JKR Headquarters in design and bridge engineering before progressing into regional leadership roles in Beaufort and Sandakan, focusing on project delivery and operational management. He later held senior positions including Principal Assistant Director of the Bridge Branch at JKR Sabah, followed by key leadership roles in the Sabah Water Department, where he served as Deputy Director of Operations and Maintenance and later as State Water Director. He returned to JKR Headquarters as Deputy Director of the Road Sector and is currently serving as the Director of Public Works Department Sabah (JKR Sabah).

Ir. Ts. Edgar Jr. Joe began his career as a Design Engineer in 2010 before serving with JKR Sabah’s Slope Engineering Unit, progressing to Assistant Director from 2018 to 2026. He is currently a Senior Lecturer at Universiti Putra Malaysia. His work focuses on slope safety assessment, landslide investigations, geotechnical design, and project management, including field monitoring and instrumentation. He is also involved in teaching and supervising students in geotechnical engineering. He has more than 15 years of professional experience in the field.

P.Geol. Dr. Rohayu Che Omar is an Associate Professor at UNITEN with more than 30 years of professional experience in engineering geology and environmental science. She specialises in geohazard management, slope stability, and the application of advanced technologies such as GIS, remote sensing, and LiDAR for infrastructure and energy sector monitoring. Throughout her career, she has led major research and consultancy projects, including high-value initiatives, and has served in important leadership roles within academia and professional organisations. She is also an internationally recognised expert and award- winning innovator, with contributions in geotechnical and environmental solutions that have received global recognition.

Ir. Rusnida Talib is a Professional Engineer with extensive experience at Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL), where she currently serves as Senior Deputy Director in the Civil Engineering and Drainage Department. She has been responsible for the planning and management of major public infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges, slope works, and utility coordination, involving projects worth millions of ringgit. In addition to her technical role, she is actively involved in leadership positions within professional bodies such as the Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (IEM) and the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM). She is also a frequent speaker at national and international platforms, sharing expertise on urban sustainability and women empowerment in STEM, with over 33 years of professional experience.

Dr. Jodin Makinda is an academician and researcher at the Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS), with about 20 years of combined academic and industry experience. His research focuses on geotechnical engineering, particularly soil stabilization, ground improvement, and engineering education, with a current interest in biocementation techniques. Before joining academia, he worked as a
site engineer involved in the planning, design, and construction of civil engineering projects such as buildings and roads. He has published over 50 articles in local and international journals and continues to
contribute actively to teaching and research at UMS.

Ir. Wong Chen Jack is a Civil Engineering graduate from the University of Melbourne (2006) and the Managing Director of CJ Consulting Engineers Sdn Bhd in Sabah, with around 19 years of professional experience. He specialises in soft ground engineering, slope engineering, deep foundations, and deep excavation works. His project experience includes major infrastructure works such as the Electrified Double Track railway project, slope rehabilitation for JKR roads, transmission tower protection in Sarawak, and slope strengthening works for the Sabah–Sarawak Gas Pipeline (SSGP). He has been involved in various complex geotechnical projects across both Peninsular and East Malaysia.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Alsidqi Hasan is a geotechnical engineering specialist with about 25 years of experience in academia, research, and consultancy. His expertise includes soft soils, peat, geotechnical testing, instrumentation, and numerical modelling, with strong involvement in both national and international projects. He has secured research funding, supervised postgraduate students, and contributed to various engineering consultancy works. He has also held academic leadership roles, including Deputy Director of COPPS at UNIMAS, and maintains active international collaborations and publications in geotechnical engineering.

Ir. Eng Boon Cheng is a Senior Civil Engineer (J14) at the Geotechnical Design Division, Public Works Department (JKR), with about 22 years of experience in geotechnical engineering. He holds a Master’s degree in Geotechnics from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia and is a Professional Engineer as well as an ASEAN Chartered Professional Engineer. His expertise includes foundation design, site investigation, geotechnical forensic studies, and the development of technical guidelines within JKR. He is also actively involved in technical training and has presented papers at both national and international levels.

PROF. IR. DR. HJH. Siti Noor Linda Bt. Hj. Taib has over 28 years of experience in civil and geotechnical engineering, specialising in problematic soils, peat, and slope stability. Her expertise includes geotechnical analysis and design, foundation engineering, slope stability, and geotechnical risk assessment. She is widely recognised for her contributions to peat soil research, landslide mitigation, and national guidelines on construction on peat soils in Malaysia.

Ir. Wong Chen Tong is a civil and bridge engineer with about 21 years of experience in structural design, assessment, and project supervision. He holds a BEng (Hons) in Civil Engineering from the University of Leeds and an MSc in Bridge Engineering from the University of Surrey. His career includes consultancy roles in Malaysia and the UK, followed by service in JKR Malaysia and JKR Sabah, focusing on bridge design, forensic assessment, and quality control. He is currently serving as Ketua Penolong Pengarah in the Pan Borneo Highway technical and quality control division.

Ir. Dr. Lee Lin Jye is a geotechnical engineering professional with around 28 years of experience in public sector infrastructure development. He currently serves in the Slopes & Forensic Branch at JKR Headquarters, where he is involved in slope failure investigations, geotechnical assessments, and road design works. His career includes extensive experience in planning, implementation, and monitoring of
national infrastructure projects, as well as contributing to the development of geotechnical units within JKR. He is supported by strong academic qualifications and professional expertise in geotechnical analysis and engineering software applications.

Prof. Dr. Rosli Sa’ad is a highly experienced geophysics expert with about 40 years of experience in mining, engineering, and environmental sectors. He currently holds multiple academic positions, including Visiting Professor at UTM, Honorary Professor at USM, and Distinguished Professor at GEOTROPIK, UTM. He has an extensive research portfolio with over 231 journal publications, 10 research books, and supervision of 46 postgraduate students. He has also contributed to major infrastructure and international projects, including MRT3, the SMART Tunnel, meteorite crater mapping at Bukit Bunuh, and consultancy work across several countries in Asia and the Middle East.

ASSOC. PROF. DR. Fauzan Sahdi has over 20 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, specialising in offshore, coastal, and peat geotechnics. He currently serves as Senior Lecturer at Universiti Malaysia Sarawak and Director of the Centre for Construction on Peat & Problematic Soil (COPPS), with active involvement in research, consultancy, and international collaborative projects.

Mr Chong Mun Fai has over 37 years of experience in civil engineering, specialising in foundation and structural testing, pile testing, and instrumentation technologies. As Managing Director of Dynamic Pile Testing Sdn. Bhd. and founder of Smart Sensing Technology Sdn. Bhd., he has extensive experience in local and international projects, and is actively involved in professional training, technical lectures, and the development of industry standards in geotechnical and foundation engineering.

His areas of expertise  include seismic geotechnics, slope stability, geospatial analysis, seismic hazard assessment, and geotechnical risk evaluation. He has extensive involvement in large-scale infrastructure and earthwork projects, particularly in geotechnical investigation, terrain analysis, risk mitigation, and construction management for complex engineering developments.

has over 21 years of experience in geotechnical engineering. Currently serving as Technical Director at Geospec Sdn. Bhd., he specialises in geotechnical design and analysis, foundation and earth retaining structures, site investigation, instrumentation, and project execution for major infrastructure projects across Malaysia and Singapore.

Prof. Madya Ts. Dr. Nor Zurairahetty Mohd Yunus is an Associate Professor at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) specializing in Geotechnical Engineering, Soil Mechanics, and Environmental Geotechnics. She holds a PhD in Geotechnical Engineering from the University of Nottingham, UK.

With over 160 publications, more than 1,200 citations, and extensive experience leading national and international research projects, her work focuses on soil improvement, slope stability, peat and soft soil engineering, environmental geotechnics, and sustainable infrastructure development. She has supervised 49 postgraduate students and is actively involved in advancing innovative and sustainable solutions to geotechnical engineering challenges.

Her research contributions have significantly influenced the fields of soil mechanics, landfill sustainability, and climate-resilient geotechnical engineering.

Prof. Ir. Ts. Dr. Adnan bin Zainorabidin holds a PhD in Geotechnical Engineering and has extensive academic qualifications and experience in civil and geotechnical engineering. Throughout his career, he has served in various academic leadership roles within the university. His teaching and supervision focus on geotechnical and foundation engineering at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, with a strong record of successfully guiding students to completion. His research expertise centres on peat and soft soil engineering, including soil behaviour, stabilisation techniques, and environmental impacts, supported by numerous publications in journals and conferences, with over 27 years of experience.

Prof. Ir. Dr. Mohd Ashraf bin Mohamad Ismail has over 16 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, engineering geology, and rock mechanics. He is currently a Professor at the School of Civil Engineering, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), specialising in tropical slope stability, tunnelling, and the application of UAV and reality modelling technologies. He is actively involved in research, professional
consultancy, and high-impact projects with government agencies and private industry.

Prof. Ts. Dr. Hj. Edy Tonnizam bin Mohamad has over three decades of experience in civil engineering across both industry and academia. He previously worked as a Geology/Geophysics Engineer
with OYO Corporation in Singapore and later as Regional Quarry Development Manager with SungeiWay Group before joining Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). He is currently a Professor and Deputy ViceChancellor (Development) t UTM. He also serves as a technical expert and consultant in geotechnical engineering, infrastructure, and natural disaster studies at national and international levels.

PMr. Br. Gs. Ir. Jeffery anak Pirah is a civil and geotechnical engineering professional with over 15 years of experience in consultancy and infrastructure projects. He has served as Resident Engineer for
WP7 Pan Borneo Highway (2017–2024) and Technical, Planning and Contract Advisor for WP29 Pan Borneo Highway (2021–2025), in addition to his long-term role as Associate Engineer at Alamega Konsult.
He is also the Principal and Chairman of OREADS Buildingcare, specialising in structural and geotechnical forensic engineering. His project experience includes dam safety inspections, campus development works, and slope rehabilitation projects across Sabah.

Prof. Ts. Gs. Dr. Rodeano Roslee has over 27 years of professional experience in geology, geoscience, and academia. He currently serves as Professor at Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS), where he
has contributed for more than 24 years in teaching, research, and consultancy. Prior to joining academia, he served with the Department of Minerals and Geoscience Malaysia as a Geological/Geophysical Officer. His expertise includes engineering geology, slope stability, geohazards, and geoscience-related consultancy and research.

Ir. Erwin Chai Pak Shin is a geotechnical engineer with experience in design and consultancy, specialising in slope design, ground improvement, excavation works, foundation design, and geotechnical
instrumentation and monitoring. He has been involved in a wide range of projects across Malaysia and Singapore, contributing to practical engineering solutions and site implementation in geotechnical
engineering.

Ir. Dr. Low Tian Huat has over 32 years of experience in geotechnical engineering and currently serves as Director and Geotechnical Manager at Mohd Asbi & Associates Sdn. Bhd. His expertise includes foundation design, slope stabilisation, and landslide risk assessment. He has been involved in major infrastructure projects such as the Pan Borneo Highway, Sabah Sarawak Gas Pipeline (SSGP), and Double
Track Railway projects. He also actively contributes to academia and the engineering profession through teaching, research, and technical publications.

Ir. Lau Joe Jiunn is a geotechnical engineering professional with extensive experience in ground improvement, foundation design, slope stability, retaining structures, and highway projects. Currently
serving as Regional Business Lead and Design Manager for East Asia at Tensar International, he is actively involved in technical delivery, geosynthetic applications, professional bodies, and technical workshops in geotechnical engineering.

Ir. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Choo Chung Siung is a geotechnical engineering professional with about 12 years of experience spanning academia and industry. He specialises in tunnelling and trenchless technologies, with strong expertise in numerical modelling of soil–structure interaction using advanced methods such as finite element, discrete element, and material point modelling. His work also includes the application of machine learning in geotechnical engineering, as well as research on pipe jacking, rock and soil characterisation, and sustainable construction materials. He has contributed to Q1 journal publications
and co-authored a Springer book on sustainable pipe jacking, reflecting his strong involvement in underground construction research and innovation.

Ir. Nor Fardzilah binti Abd. Rahman has over 22 years of experience in civil engineering, specialising in geotechnical, infrastructure, building, and maintenance works. Her expertise includes research, design, supervision, and project management for various construction development projects. She has also served as an internal lecturer for the Public Works Department in geotechnical design.

Dato’ Ir. Dr. Gue See Sew is a highly experienced civil engineer and industry leader with approximately 44 years of professional experience in engineering practice, technical advisory, and public infrastructure safety. He currently serves as Chairman of the Technical Advisory Panel for the State of Penang and previously acted as Technical Advisor to the Mayor of Kuala Lumpur City Hall. He has played key roles in multiple high-profile failure investigation and inquiry committees, including landmark cases such as Highland Towers, Pulau Banding Tourism Complex, and various Penang infrastructure incidents, contributing significantly to engineering safety governance in Malaysia. He has also represented Malaysia in international engineering bodies and served in expert committees on slope safety and construction industry standards.

Ir. Nur Hazirah binti Abu Salim is a Professional Engineer (BEM) currently serving at the Public Works Department (JKR) Malaysia Headquarters. She specializes in geotechnical engineering, with extensive experience in slope stabilization, ground improvement, and major infrastructure projects, including federal roads, MRT, and LRT3 developments.

She also contributes to the development of technical standards and sustainable infrastructure initiatives and has represented her organization internationally as a presenter at the REAAA Conference in South Korea.

Ir. Evelyn Pius obtained her bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the Catholic University of America, U. S. A. in 1988 and started working at Jabatan Kerja Raya Sabah soon after graduation. She is currently the Deputy Director since 2025 for the Building Sector in charge of 6 branches in the department She has over 38 years of experience in civil and structural engineering design and construction. She was a member of JKR Sabah for Technical Committee Code of Practice of Design of Concrete Structure (NSC 04/TC 21).
